Welcome to Local Joe’s – Albertville
Where history meets hospitality.

Located in the heart of Sand Mountain, Local Joe’s Albertville brings Southern flavor and hometown hospitality to a location rich in local history — the former home of Hammers. This iconic building, where generations once shopped, now welcomes guests for a different kind of gathering — around the table.

You’ll still find the original hardwood floors that tell stories of the past, honoring a legacy that began in 1948 and continued until Hammers closed its doors on December 22, 2012. We’re proud to carry on the spirit of community in this beloved space.

Just minutes from Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheatre, we’re located at the corner of Highway 75 and Main Street, only blocks from Highway 431.

From 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., enjoy everything from our signature pulled pork sandwich with house-made chips to a grilled-to-order ribeye with a baked potato — and everything in between. Craving breakfast? Join us every Saturday morning from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for Southern favorites served fresh.

Rooted in the “eat (and drink) local” movement, founder Jodie Stanfield proudly supports Alabama’s farmers and makers. That commitment is baked into every meal and seen on every shelf — from locally grown produce to Alabama-made goods in our market.

Our menu goes beyond BBQ, offering something for the whole family. Try our Dixie Chicken — fresh, never frozen, hand-battered and fried to golden perfection, topped with creamy white gravy — or treat yourself to a ribeye grilled just the way you like it.

Be sure to visit Becky’s bakery case, filled with in-house desserts like fried pies and cookies, or indulge in the unforgettable Caramel Pretzel Brownie served warm with ice cream.

Planning an event or feeding a crowd?
We offer catering for gatherings big and small, with full-service options and custom menus to bring the flavor of Local Joe’s to your next celebration, meeting, or special occasion.

And don’t be surprised if you’re greeted by Mr. Floyd during your visit — a proud Vietnam War veteran and a friendly face you’ll likely see during the day. He’s the father of owner Karen (Jodie) Stanfield, though many folks mistake him for the owner himself. His presence is part of what makes this place feel like home.

And in proud tradition, we invite you to pause with us at noon and again at 6:00 p.m. daily as we play our National Anthem.

Whether you’re a longtime local or new to town, we invite you to gather, eat, and feel right at home at Local Joe’s Albertville.
